Hannah Belan – Interactive Touch Input Sketch

So here are some images of my input device, which is a canvas I will eventually paint a background color. The input devices will be on the front of the canvas to be interacted with while the wiring itself will be hidden behind. I’ve included some short videos of me messing around with different aspects of the piece to show that although there is no conductive thread or tape on the flower that the water within it is enough to create an impulse when touched. This, of course, means that the flower will need to be relatively fresh to allow for the signal to travel through it. Luckily I have a bunch of hydrangeas that I can clip when the time gets closer to presentation, for now I will continue to use the one I have already clipped and assume that a fresh one will work in the same manner. I have several other found pieces that I am including (They currently aren’t attached to the physical canvas, but are drying by a heater because r a i n) that will be gilded with the conductive tape to allow the piece to remain aesthetically pleasing while being conductive and interactable.

I’m afraid that the tea will seem out of place physically in this assignment if all of the other interactable pieces are organic and unprocessed, should I either take it out completely or if I keep it are there other Autumn-y pieces that I could add to make it seem more fitting?
