Life’s Moment

Hey, long time no chat! Sorry about that, especially for the people who had mentioned they wanted see how the chess board came out.

I ended up using a pieces of foam board as the base of the board then print out the pattern twice, so I could cut out the pieces for the low areas and pop up areas. I made little hole in the bottom of the foam board and then out a small window of extra foam board on the areas to make them pop up and feed through the copper wiring. However, I ended up scratching the copper wiring entirely and using the conductive paint to trace out the half of the circuit on the chessboard and painted the entire chess piece with it to complete the circuit. The only draw back is that I had to really push down on the piece to make the connection work, but it worked! I can upload photos of the board and chess piece this afternoon for anyone who wants a closer look. I did have to edit the recording a little, because when I adjusted my grip, the animation reset to play again.

I really like the pattern of the chess board! What was the design decision behind the pattern itself?

I love the stories you tell with each part of your project! The voice-overs, the animations, and the physical controller all interact together in a very cohesive way.
