Now here’s a weird one. As an individual with somewhat of an interest in game audio, alongside writing, I decided that a fully audio system would be used with the makey makey. I call it the Penny Drumset, a simple set up but an intriguing one. Instead of using pennies and samples from two songs, I created a drum kit of sorts, with the space bar allowing me to play a song, while the arrow keys allowed me to input beats or vocal samples.
Unlike the grouped playlist, this particular piece was designed to accommodate overlapping sounds to great effect. Although the focus was more on the music, I don’t solely intend to use pennies if such a thing is possible. In particular, I intend to create a drawing with some 6B pencils to make a more sophisticated model that won’t shift like the pennies tend to. The sampling will also definitely change, as I intend to make the most out of each song I sampled.
The songs used in the making of this project are “Noah” by The Jubalaires and “Starships” by Nicki Minaj
