For my final project, I plan to investigate the concept that as humans, we are more alike than we are different. Essentially, the two users will each be presented with several prompts in which they will agree or disagree with, that pertain to how humans behave as a whole. They will each answer these questions without knowing what the other person has put. When both users have answered, their choices will be revealed. The questions intend to be fairly easy to answer, and are meant to remind the users of how much we share in common with each other and to reinforce that there will always be other people that are there for you.
For the input, I intend to use a Makey Makey kit. It will look something like what I have illustrated below:

The input will consist of a box with the Makey Makey + the wires inside. On it will be two buttons for each player, and agree and a disagree button. There will be a wall between the sets of buttons so the players can’t see what the other one answered. There’s also another button labeled “Next” which will allow the players to move on from the answer phase onto the next question.
My artist question is: What can I add to the output that would enhance the experience and make it more immersive and interesting, specifically during the answer phase?
A simple yet fun project that can be seen on a lot of TV shows. I really wanted to participate in one of these games however I am not a TV or movie celebrity so I never had a chance to do so. Now this will be my chance! really nice concept, looking forward to try out in class!
For the output, adding sound effects much like video games/gameshows would definitely capture a user’s attention!
To answer your artist’s question, I agree with Lolita that sound effects would be helpful. Visuals would also make a big difference. It would be great if there are images which could be associated with the questions, that way the players have something new to see every time.
Sound effects would definitely make the experience better and more like a game show if that’s what you’re going for.
Adding a temporal element with a timer could be a fun way to engage the users.
I agree with the others that leaning into the game-show aspect of this would really enhance the experience.
Sound effects and music always make a game more immersive and fun to play. Also if you have the time, making the controller do little vibrates from time to time would also make the player more interested.
It would be cool to me if there is some TV show-like aesthetics on the screen going along with the questions.
You might want to look into the coll object for storing the users data input (lots of other ways to do this too)
In my opinion, usually a simple, colorful, and geometric aesthetic keeps an audiences attention, such as an arc rotating in the center of a loading screen.
