My name is Rose and I am a junior at WPI majoring in Human-Computer Interaction. I originally came into WPI as a CS major, but quickly switched to be an IMGD major because I liked programming but I was much more interested in the human side of it. I really enjoy the IMGD classes, however I found that I am very passionate about the interactive media side of IMGD. This is why I am currently in the process of getting an interdisciplinary major approved. While I am not sure exactly what I want to do, I know that my goal is to create more universal access technology. I really like the fields of UI and UX design, and am working on getting more professional experience in these fields. I have technical experience in full-stack development, but I am definitely much more comfortable with front end development.
The arts are very important to me because I strongly believe that good design is the key to creating amazing products, processes, and experiences. I didn’t have too much experience practicing art before I came to WPI, but through a few of the art and design classes I have taken I have found that I am really passionate about digital art. I have gotten most of my experience with creating digital art through a side hustle I have. In my free time, I create simple designs to upload to RedBubble, a website that allows artists to upload designs and place them on multiple different products. I have been doing this for about two years now and have gotten a lot of experience in procreate and photoscape x(a free photoshop alternative). I also really photography and video editing. I work on campus in the admissions department, producing videos for prospective students. This job, along with personal video projects I have worked on, has given me a lot of experience using Adobe premiere pro.
I don’t have any specific creative inspirations because I find most of my inspiration on social media. I like to view a wide arrangement of digital art, including tutorials for the software I like, on different social media platforms.
Here are some examples of works I’ve created either for a class or for personal projects:
3D Environmental Modeling Final Project, Worcester Auditorium:
Digital Imaging and Computer Art Animated Logo:

Hi Rose! I really love the aesthetic of your Nature Sticker Design. It’s minimalistic, organic, and has that subtle hand drawn look to it which I really like. I’m pretty bad with colors, myself so I can always appreciate others who are good with it.
