For this assignment, I was particularly worried that I would not be able to complete it. Up until now, I have been able to find free versions of programs we use in class so I stay on top of my work, but I did not think I could find a free version of ZBrush. I tried visiting the school once this week after our class in order to use the program on one of the school computers, but a class started and I had to leave. Luckily, I learned that there is a version of ZBrush that is completely free for anyone. It is missing a ton of the functionality of the full program, but it did the trick for me. In fact, it turned out being so good for a free program that I am very happy with what I was able to produce with it! The program was called ZBrushCoreMini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I started off with a basic sphere, like recommended, and worked on my model from there. I was able to stretch and sculpt it very easily and decided to try to make a face out of it. The face I was able to produce turned out ten times better than I was expecting! The lesson from Webster in our class helped a lot, but this program was also very easy to use and helped me out by offering some shape templates like ears and eyes. For things like the beard, hair, and face shape, I was able to form it using the raising and slashing tools for the most part. If I were to put this object in my AR project, I think it would look really cool as a vase in my apartment… a face with the head of a gnome or an elf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
