For my altered toys project, I decided to recreate Barbie clothes with a twist. Instead of using the soft and flexible fabric that is normally used for clothes, I used hard and structured PLA filament. I think this provides a nice contrast to the original toy. I also wanted my piece to represent the fashion industry and it’s failure to produce clothes that fits anyone quite right. I believe that the rigid and perfectly geometric structure of my design really showcases this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
