For my first project, I made a layered version of my face. This was primarily done using Inkscape and Fusion Slicer. I have wanted to make this idea for about 5 years ever since I made a 3D scan of my face. The face itself is made of MDF since it is plain and roughly skin color while the rest is plywood from the makerspace. The glasses were a fun touch that I thought brought life to this somewhat morbid piece. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

For the second project, I designed an 80s TV playing a famous scene from The Karate Kid<\/em>. The box was made in Makercase, but the designs put on it were drawn using Inkscape. The screen is made from acrylic while the rest is plywood. Some cool added features not shown in the image are that the LED strip inside is controlled with a remote and the knobs on the right turn. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Altered Toy Project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For my final project of the term, I altered my favorite toy as a kid, Thomas the Tank Engine. Instead of the normal train, I chose to transform him into a tank. This was done using Fusion for the body and Meshmixer for the face. I added acrylic paint to match Thomas’s famous blue color. It should also be noted that his head and body are separate pieces, allowing the turret to be positioned in any direction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
