Here’s my finished lantern! The original concept was to add an element of Tiki vibes to my apartment’s home bar. The lantern flickers like a candle, but uses LEDs and a microcontroller. I think I’ve done a pretty decent job of adding some warm, subtle lighting to the shelf. I designed the baseplate such that overextrusion from 3d printing accounted for the kerf of the laser cut panels. I used a hot glue gun for final assembly and printer paper to diffuse the light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
