I chose to do more crows because I find them cute and interesting. There is a rhyme that associates different numbers of crows with different things. I chose to have five crows because in the rhyme five crows brings silver and I though that it would be fun to have a lamp that attracts money like the frog statues my mom used to put in the window when I was a kid. I also chose to do a simple cube shape for my lantern because I like how simple it looked with the drawings I’m planning on using. I also decided to include a crow skull because I feel like it added to the cube by representing the several different types of crows, one crow is smart and using tools, the other is playing\/ flying, another is collecting objects, the skull is creepy, and the last two are cute. At the moment I’m unsure of how I am going to light the lantern. I was thinking of having something that more closely resembles a fire as long as it is bright enough and I was thinking that I might want to give the lantern a stand like a real lamp. I’m not sure how to go about that yet either. Another question I have is does it look like from my drawings that the crows will come out well? I’ve heard concerns about structural stability of the pieces and some concerns about cut thickness. I tried to switch up the amount of material I was removing from the each part of the images to create more visual interest but I am unsure that it is working the way I hoped. Also please keep in mind that I know line weight is inconsistent, I don’t think it matters too much as long as each line can be read in inkscape as the laser has a set thickness for its cuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
