I had to clean up a lot of extra lines, but I reached layers that I am pretty happy with. I am still deciding how big to make this project since there is a good amount of detail and some small pieces. I will be staining or painting the finished product a dark rusty red and leaving it oriented flat. I am open to ideas on how large to make it, like between 6 – 10 inches for the base. I am also not sure if I should leave the size comparison or if I should add something different, like listing the name and elevation or something else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"690\" height=\"716\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/art-in-the-makerspace-24\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2024\/01\/olympus-mons-slices-snip-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1204\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/art-in-the-makerspace-24\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2024\/01\/olympus-mons-slices-snip-1.png 690w, https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/art-in-the-makerspace-24\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2024\/01\/olympus-mons-slices-snip-1-289x300.png 289w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px\" \/><\/a>
These are the slices so far. I realized I scaled the model down a little too small in comparison to the thickness of the wood, but I am very happy with how it came out.
