So far I have worked on setting my layers up to laser cut. I have also simplified the design slightly of the image. The red outlines are what will be laser cut and I have linked the smaller pieces of each layer to bigger ones. My plan is to cut them apart with scissors but until then they are all stuck together so they won’t get lost. I updated the color of the lines in my drawing as well. Using the paper do you think I will be able to create enough depth to show a more 3D style cat with the layers below? If not do you have any suggestions to improve the depth perception of the piece either through color choice or layer shape and size or material.

I think the layers definitely bring out a nice sense of a 3D object as they are. The perspective and details are really well done, and are nicely contrasted to the fact the piece is assembled of mostly abstract shapes.
Thank you, I was a little unsure of if the perspective of the cat was working as well.
I don’t think depth we be a problem since I can clearly see the depth even on my flat screen.
Your cat’s non-skull side is very striking.
Do you have any method of organizing once you cut?
In my opinion the way you shaded the cat is really well done.
I think I’m planning on printing out a sheet with just the outlines of my cat on it and using that and the color to match the cut pieces up to it and organize how I glue everything together.
