Katherine Tse Drawings #2 & #3:

Drawing #2 is the logo for the WPI Ballroom Dance Team. I traced it and added a circle that would allow me to hang it as a key chain or bag tag. Drawing #3 is three hearts stacked. I found some starter code on the internet and adjusted it to add and prefect the hearts.

Rachel May First Cut

For my first cut, I chose to cut out my Drawing #1 of a yarn ball and crochet hook. I had the speed high and the power low for the engraving, and it is darker on some lines and lighter on the rest. Not sure why this happened, but will fix it for my next…

Rachel May Drawings #2 and #3

For my Drawing #2, I chose to trace the lines of a symbol from a book I read recently called The Fourth Wing. It features two dragons, one large black one with one small golden one on top of it. I thought it would look great as a raster engrave. For my Drawing #3, I…

Drawings #2 and #3

For my second drawing I tried drawing The Fuecoco line from Pokémon with some areas like the flames being rasterized! For my second drawing, I tried to make a cave like effect using p5.

The image above appears to be just a photo of a Pagoda in Japan, but I have done some editing to make it ready for laser cutting. I used content aware fill in Photoshop to take out some distracting elements such as a telephone pole and increased contrast to help with halftone dithering performance. I…

Drawing #1

I chose to make a drawing of potted flowers inspired by my grandma. When I was younger my grandma would teach me and my sister how to garden and would let us help her water all her flowers. I used the shape tools and the shape builder tool to make the pot and the flowers…

First Cuts

First i tried cutting my drawing #1 and it went alright. Had the laser power too high for my plywood’s thickness, so some parts fell out when they were not supposed to. Next I raster engraved a simple pixel art piece I made for testing purposes and it went smoothly Lastly, I just mesed around…
