Mikayla Raffin: Drawings #2 and #3

For drawing #2 I wanted to incorporate some text with a fun font and I have always loved art from past decades took inspiration from the 70s. I found a cool font with some interesting detail and designed a little lava lamp graphic in the middle which would all be raster engraved. The base and cap of the lava lamp could take a fair amount of time to engrave so I could try and change this to just engrave the outline and keep the raster engraving for the inside of the lamp and the text to shorten the cut/engrave time.

For drawing #3 I wanted to experiment with adding another shape aside from the rectangle and playing with color, size, and rotation of the shapes. I landed on using the rectangle and the ellipse and having both shapes increase in height, width, and distance from the center point at different intervals between the two shapes. It created a pretty interesting patter and what I think is the coolest part is the different densities of overlapping lines in different areas.
