Here is the progress I’ve made on the layers project. I got a layout of the different layers distinguished and managed to get a cut made on one of the smaller laser cutters. Because it was smaller though, I had to reduce the size of the drawing making it so many of the smaller cut pieces got lost or destroyed in the process. I still managed to put together what I could to see how it looked but I am planning to try to cut it out again on a larger scale if I can so I can use all the pieces rather then just the larger ones that survived.

I’m struck by the detail you were able to include in this, I’m a fan of the dragon face in particular.
What is your plan for adding color?
Are you going to continue with using the Baltic birch plywood?
Are you planning on doing more rastering when for texture when you cut again?
I am impressed with the amount of detail in all of the pieces. I am interested to hear if you will be using any finishing techniques on the piece and how you plan to mount it.
All the pieces are very detailed. Do you plan on coloring it?
I’m struck by the level of detail. Was it difficult to assemble everything/ keep the pieces straight? I like that you incorporated the raster into the layers project too
How much larger are you thinking of making the piece in order to preserve the smaller detailed pieces and if your adding color are you planning on painting it or staining it? I do really appreciate your used of raster engraving some of the details on the face I think that was a cool idea.
I really like the fine lines and detail you were able to accomplish at this scale. Keep in mind creating this in a larger scale, but using wood with the same depth may cause less contrast in your final design.
