My first drawing takes inspiration from a tradition Chinese decoration. It is common around the New Year to hang a sign that has the character for fortune on it upside down. I decided to make one of these signs, but instead of using the character for fortune, I am using the character that is my last name. I added cut outs both at the top and the bottom of the piece. This allows me to hang it both right-side up and upside down.
