Haley Gilbert: Altered Toys Finished

on

For my altered toys design I wanted to remake a littlest pet shop, they were my favorite growing up and I always played with the german shepherd one. At the time I had a german shepard so I found it fitting to create a chihuahua as that was the dog I had for the rest of my childhood. I also wanted to make it practical so it would have more use than a trinket. So I made a hole through it with the dimensions of most pens so I could give it to my mom for her desk at home. After designing it I printed it out at the Maker Space and removed the scraps and there was some disfigurations. So I used a lighter to heat up the plastic so i could better shape it before painting. Then I painted it to have the same features as my old dog coco:)

I was really impressed by this one as it looked so similar to the, i think webkinz, design. I was also impressed by your focus on making something that served another purpose as functional pieces are my favorite typically.
