Introduction & Portfolio – Griffin Bowers

Hi everyone my name is Griffin Bowers and I am from Ambler, Pennsylvania which is around a 30 minute drive from Philadelphia. I am a Senior majoring in IMGD (BA) with a concentration in visual arts and with a minor in business. Art has always been a part of my life in some manner from doodling, spending hours with Legos and creating toys out of cardboard. It has been something I have always enjoyed and felt at peace doing. Due to this I decided to pursue a childhood dream of mine I did not realize was possible until junior year of high school, studying game development and the art that revolves around it which is why I am at WPI today. Through WPI I have gotten to experience a range of different mediums in art which include pixel art, 2d animation, 3d animation, 3d modelling – characters and environments, digital painting, concept art and more. My favorite I would say is concept art and sketching in general as I enjoy just quickly creating my ideas and taking them out of my mind and putting them into physical form. I would like to use my enjoyment of art to work in the game or animation industry.

Here is some of the work I have done recently:

The Champagne room assignment in 3d Environmental modelling.

An animation of an infantry unit with a tome attacking for my MQP.

A water and bridge tileset I created for the battle scene for the game I am working on for my MQP.

This is the final project I did for Interactive Electronic Arts which combines physical inputs and animations to creative an interactive experience that is user directed.

Concept Art and 3D Models of a fishbone spoon and fork I created for my internship this past summer.
