

The image above appears to be just a photo of a Pagoda in Japan, but I have done some editing to make it ready for laser cutting. I used content aware fill in Photoshop to take out some distracting elements such as a telephone pole and increased contrast to help with halftone dithering performance. I used edge detection in Inkscape to find and enunciate the more prominent lines within the image. Then, I manually tuned these lines to better outline parts of the buildings that I wanted outlined.
