This work from the slides is a good inspiration for what I want to do. Although I am going to lean more towards sculptures, I plan to follow in the footsteps of this creation. In particular, I like how well the details of the head come through even when the layers that make it up are fairly basic. I also noticed the piece extends far beyond the head as the top of the box has an interesting shape that does not draw too much attention. This was the hope of the back plate I sketched on the right since I want to add a frame to the piece that does not distract from the focal point of the face.
What are you thinking in terms of size and material?
The face is going to be life size with the headplate being slightly larger around it. For material, I got MDF for the face itself since it is plain, skin colored, and cheap. The headboard is going to be stained wood from the Makerspace.
