Cullen Jacene: Altered Toy Design

I loved Thomas the Tank Engine as a kid, and it may be partially what got me into engineering. To put a spin on this, I dropped the engine from his name and chose to make a Thomas the Tank. I will geometrically make the tank in Fusion since I have easy access to it and have used it before. I will make Thomas’s face in inkbrush since its organic. I have not decided whether I will combine them digitally or physically yet, so I’ll see how well these softwares want to work with each other.

I have never worked with Fusion but if you export an .obj file from it, it will most likely import into zbrush pretty well, and from there you can create and append the thomas face.

I think that having the mouth be the part that is the barrel of the tank might be really cool and bring your toy to life a little bit more.

Love Thomas THE Tank. What if you printed the wheels separately and got the tread for the wheels and made it so it can actually drive (roll?) around?

This idea looks very fun! Having Thomas’s face be on the top of the tank instead of the front is very funny, he almost looks like a button from the side view that when you press down would fire something from the tank.
