Layers Design – Deanna Polosino

For my design, I wanted to incorporate things that are important in my life. I have been camping since I was a kid so I choose to do make the boarder of the design in the shape of a Class C RV. The inside is an outdoor and mountainy landscape. Each color represents a different layer of plywood.

My inspiration was from the wolf we saw in class and this fish I found during my research.

Do you plan to raster engrave or cut the birds?

    1. Deanna says:

I plan on cutting the birds so when I have the other layers put together I can move them around and find a place for them.

What is your plan for the size of the camper?

    1. Deanna says:

Currently I have it drawn out on a 6″ by 11″ canvas.

Do you plan on using color in your piece and if so how?

    1. Deanna says:

Yes! The colors on the sketch is what I plan to use but the shades might differ when I get to that point.

  4. Samy says:

Do you plan to add shadows through rastering to parts of the mountains and trees to show how the light source from the sun interacts with them?

    1. Deanna says:

As of right now I have no plans to raster it like that but since I am painting the layers I might incorporate the shadow in that way.

Do you plan on having this stand on its own once finished? if not how do you plan on mounting it?

    1. Deanna says:

Either sawtooth hangers or laser cutting some kind of stand if it is too heavy for the sawtooth ones.

I see the outline of the camper has the 2 red lines is this indicative of a sort of frame for the piece, and if it is supposed to be framing the piece will this just be a larger base layer and the colorful layers are stacked on top or will you have it as the top layer to kind of close the piece?
