First Cuts

on

First i tried cutting my drawing #1 and it went alright. Had the laser power too high for my plywood’s thickness, so some parts fell out when they were not supposed to.

Next I raster engraved a simple pixel art piece I made for testing purposes and it went smoothly

Lastly, I just mesed around and cut some random images i found to further get used to the laser

The second and third image are each a side of the same piece of wood, which was a cool little thing to test out

I noticed how clean most of the vector cuts are. I appreciate the different cuts to showcase different designs and laser settings.

I noticed the pea shooter has a rasterized mouth. I was struck by the weight of the lines of the amogus character. I appreciate the way you used a variety of cutting techniques.

The Among Us crewmate is very bold. I am amazed with how you got a design on each side of the coin. I appreciate your willingness to test out many ideas, such as the double-sided coin or the complex pattern of the third image.

I noticed the lack of uniformity in the lines. I think this technique is visually pleasing and adds an abstract feel to this simple design. I appreciate the way you use 1’s and 0’s. It makes me think of computer code that goes into a video game.

I appreciate the n=amount of effort you put into showcasing different design methods. I particularly like the bold amoung us coin that you made, especially the mini one. I also appreciate your gaming turtle, its non perfect lines give it a doodle feel which I enjoy.

I noticed how well the laser cutter takes to translating images into laser cuts, like the taiko no tatsujin coin. It gave off a very interesting texture.
I’m struck by the way you incorporated full cuts for the controller buttons instead of rastoring or just engraving. It adds a nice touch of variety.
