Hi y’all I’m Haley Gilbert and I am from southern New Hampshire. I believe art provides the perfect “balance” to life. I personally like to incorporate art and the arts in my life in many ways. Growing up I was always drawn to music and learned to play several instruments the saxophone, piano and ukulele. I also got into painting and photography. However, I hadn’t had the opportunity to take traditional art classes until college. At WPI I have learned how to create with some digital art platforms such as Adobe Illustrator, Maya and Adobe Photoshop, as well as some more traditional means such as charcoal drawing oil pastels. In my free time more recently I have gotten into making sticker designs on Procreate, painting using acrylics, upcycling clothing and line dancing. As for using the makerspace I have some experience using the 3D printers and I have used the laser cutter once before to make a 2D model of the upper half of a human silhouette. I hope to continue to have art be a part of my life and am excited to explore new mediums in this class.
