I am Caitlyn Harrington, but I usually go by Cate and I am from Nashua, New Hampshire. I love to go hiking, go to yoga, painting and hanging with friends in my free time.
I enjoy going to art museums and looking at architecture, however, art does not play as big of a role in my life as I would like it to. I have always enjoyed painting and drawing, but as an engineering student, I struggle with incorporating this hobby into my day-to-day life. I hope to incorporate the arts into my life further after graduation.
I have taken Essentials of Art, Digital Art and Modern American Architecture throughout my time at WPI. I also took Innovation Through Making, which utilized many of the tools located in the makerspace, including the laser cutter and 3D printers. I have lots of experience using solidworks and creating CAD models and I do research in the Medmaln Labs, so I have access to the CNC machines, although I have not used them frequently.
I love to paint in my free time. I think its really nice way to reduce stress. I volunteer with Big Brothers, Big Sisters once a week and often bring paints to destress with my little, Bella. I also like to sew. In highschool, I often thrifted my clothes and altered them to make them unique to my style. Unfortunately I do not have my sewing machine in Worcester. I am not the most talented artist, but I think it’s important to express yourself creatively and bring your ideas to life.
One thing you should know about me is I am always running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I have a part time job for an MEP company in Boston, I do research on campus, and I am involved in many clubs. Despite my packed schedule I always get my work done on time and I am a very motivated student.

I made these pants during my senior year of high school. I altered them to fit me, then painted them to suit my own style.
This was my digital art. I used adobe software to produce all images and create an animated clip inspired by Super Mario Bros.

This was my Essentials of Art final. We had to take an original art piece and ass our own twist to it (or in this case I added myself). It was done on paper with colored pencils. Drawing is not my strong-suit, but this piece shows a lot of improvement from my earlier work in this class.

The above pieces are all painted onto a ping pong table. My friends and I spent all summer creating this decorative piece to be displayed in our apartment.

These are canvases and letters that I made for my little.

This is the little keychain that I made using the laser cutter for Innovation Through Making.

I created this image in my Digital Art class. It was a color study created in Illustrator.

I made this sweatshirt for my friends birthday. I drew the design on my ipad and used my cricut to create the iron on.
