The concept for this piece was to make something hive inspired, as my ID2050 is about bees and beekeepers. I wanted to make a hexagonal lantern with more hexagons throughout it and a bee logo on the middle hexagon. I think it turned out well and I like the shadow it projects when near a wall. During the making of this I had a lot of issues due to the software perceiving parts of it as raster image instead of a vector. I had to do a lot of practice cuts to get the fitting right. With the lights I wanted it to look somewhat bee like in the dark which these LEDs are pretty good at doing!
