The concept for this piece was Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy. This is specific frame though was based on Groots short movie. I wanted to give the piece a 3-dimensional look through both his face and his hands. I think this aspect was able to be shown. Another aspect I wanted to work with was the holes in between him as he is a tree, and making it look natural, which I think also turned out fairly well.
