Altered Toys WIP Rachel May

For my altered toy, I am making a giant crochet hook accessory for a wii remote. I have started modeling the rough shape in Fusion360, but I have not scaled it to fit the dimensions of a wii remote yet. My question is, should I paint it white like a wii remote or a different color to better fit the crochet hooks I use? Or even not paint it at all?

Most wii accessories were white, so I think that would work really well, and you could just print t in that color. If you have a specific color wiimote you would like to try it on, you could aim for a color that matches that as well.

That’s a good point. I only have white wii remotes so I’ll keep that in mind.

I like the idea of the crochet hook, I think it is very fun. Is there a game on the Wii that inspired this design? I think you should print it in a color to match your crochet hooks. I think matching the crochet hook this is based off of would be fun and it might provide some nice contrast with the white Wii remote. I have also seen a few colored Wii remotes and accessories too so I think making it a fun color will fit in the accessory line up.

There are other accessories for wii remotes like a tennis racket, baseball bat, and golf club. I only have white wii remotes though, so I agree some contrast may be nice.

If it is possible, printing it in white filament would be cool!

It does a good job of matching the aesthetics of the of the Wii brand.
Do you plan to fit a Wiimote in it?
If you do plan to put the Wiimote in, it might be a good idea to add a hold in the back for the wrist strap.

I do plan to scale it to the dimensions of a wii remote and I will most likely cut a hole at the back.

This is very cool! I think a semi-transparent filament would really make this feel like a Wii accessory! (The makerspace has some!)
