I worked on this design in Solidworks. It was my first time in solidworks, but with some help from a friend, I made some progress I am happy with . I still want to improve the design some though.
I plan to add dotted representations of numbers for each slot(like the sides of a die) and add a support that tilts it slightly, so you can just drop the marble in.
I will probably use a glass marble, which is lightweight and I based the dimensions of the “die” on a specific amazon lisiting (.6″)

My main questions are how I should implement the numbers. As of right now I am leaning towards having them engraved into the slots at the bottom, but I was wondering if there was a better or more interesting way to implement them.
To answer your question, I think engraving the numbers would work well. You could even paint/write them or even use stickers or someone like that if you wanted an external idea
I appreciate the symmetry within your design. Do you plan on painting the board other outside of just the numbers? I really like the concept and am excited to see how the functionality works out.
I did not really intend to paint any details, but I could potentially add that if I find this “die” is used for a specific game. It would be fun to theme it to a specific game.
I love this design and how it reminds me of the Price is Right game Plinko. I think engraving the numbers at the bottom would look cool.
I love your design it reminds me of playing the drop game at the end of mini golf. Do you plan on using other materials in this build or just 3D printing it? What is your plan for color? I think it might be fun to add a top plate that sits on the side of the box and overs the bottom and pegs of the box. I think that will prevent the marble from bouncing out of the drop game. I also think if you added a channel for the cover to slide in and out of, it would allow you to raise the lid to retrieve your marble at the end of the roll. You could use acrylic for this cover and engrave your dot design on it with the laser.
As for the numbers you could add a top plate of acrylic and raster engrave them on. This also could leave a cool affect you wanted to put this in a dark area with lights on the bottom to make the numbers stand out.
The design is really creative! Do you have a specific color in mind for it?
Your design looks very polished.
How inclined is it going to be?
I think the engravings should work. The only thing to consider is that sometimes supports are built in there, so don’t make them too deep.
