For this project I chose to do my cat Sassy with half her head cut open and showing a skull. I liked the idea of the skull because it reminded me of my cat themed tarot cards. I also liked the idea of the face of subject looking like it was a topographic map coming out of the paper using mostly blues and blacks. I chose to use blues, and grays as well as browns and whites as this stilled gave the impression of the subject moving out of the paper and it gave a good representation of a cat skull that was not in gray scale. I also used some foam dots to raise each layer of the cat up and make the skull appear lower and closer to the paper. This is very subtle but very interesting to look at in person.
