Altered Toys Design – Lauren Waddick

For this project, I want to base it around a childhood toy collecting game called Skylanders. I want to try to design what could look like a fake character from the series by making a toy from the design. Below are some quick sketches of possible designs. I’m hoping to match the cartoony style of the game a bit more and create a feeling of nostalgia for the toys to life phenomenon that was going on at the time.

Theses designs are really cool. I find the middle design to be the strongest, but the first design would probably require the fewest supports

I had a few of these too and loved them. It might be good to add a base to these like the originals. It might make them easier to display too.

I love the walrus one!! Me and my nephew also had a few of these growing up too

I love this! Like Cullen said, adding a base would look good!

These are awesome! I really like the second one. I think as others have said that a base would be helpful for displaying them and keeping them anchored to the 3D printer bed. I think some of your details may also be a little small so you can also consider painting on some of the texturing instead of printing it as part of the piece.
