I will be cutting this out on Tuesday. I am thinking of staining it all a dark brown and having a bright yellow tissue paper in the inside. The top and bottom I am planning on gluing to the sides, I left extra room for this purpose as well. The light will be on the inside, I am thinking of suspending it in the middle maybe from its wire.
I love the simplicity of the honey comb and how the size variation on the top and bottom is used to create different textures. Is this lantern made to hang or sit on a table, what were you planning on doing to display it? I have an opinion about the color of the tissue paper as well. I think it may be cool if you switched up the tones or the number of sheets used to cover each open honey comb to create some more visual depth.
