I have ordered my acrylic and am working on getting all of the layers arranged/cleaned up. I still have to add the 3D heart, but I will do that after I finish with the actual duck layers. If anyone knows how to get rid of those extra pages when you import a pdf into Inkscape, please let me know!

How do you intend to create the Heart?
I found a simple heart on thingiverse which I sliced into layers. The easy part is cutting out the heart layers on the pink. The hard part is lining up the cuts I will have to make on the body so that the resulting holes make it actually looks like a heart. I am working on that now.
Your duck is very cute and squishable.
What does the yellow signify in the drawing?
In my opinion, you might want to delete the numbers so that they don’t get seen if you use acrylic.
I don’t know what you mean by extra pages, but I there is a page editor tab at the bottom of the left sidebar.
Hehe thanks! The yellow is the beak, which I will cut out of yellow acrylic. I have now moved those over to a new file so that they can be cut out on the yellow instead of on the clear. I was able to figure out the extra page thing by just moving things over to separate inkscape files (which also will make it easier to keep the sheets organized).
When I open a pdf I typically click File -> Open rather than File -> Import. This opens the pdf alone instead of importing it into the existing file. Nice duck haha
Thank you!!
I appreciate the detail you are putting into the design. How do you plan on lighting your project? I am excited to see the final project. I think that the heart is going to be a great addition.
I have a circular light that I plan to put him on top of. I am also excited to see how he turns out! I’m a bit nervous too haha because there are so many parts I have to worry about.
This is so cute! What type of light do you plan to use?
I have a small round light that I just plan to place the duck on top of!
This is such a great idea, I love it. How do you plan to align it? (One way would be to make a rastered outline of the overlapping sections)
I am still (metaphorically) banging my head against the wall trying to align these pieces. I think once I cut it out, I will be able to align everything just by looking at it. I just need to figure out the alignment of the heart pieces before I cut everything out.
