Lantern Design: Haley Gilbert

on

I am still unsure if I want to do a 4 wall lantern or make a single stand piece. If I do four walls I will most likely do two of each wall, and if I do one wall I will do the bicycle photo. I was having trouble conveying the boat in my art please let me know if you have any suggestions.

What material are you planning on using? And are you planning on rastering anything or just cutting out all of the lines? I don’t have any suggestions for the boat, I think it looks good!

Are you planning to do any design on the top if it is a 4 walled lantern? For your boat, I would suggest maybe not having haves above the end of the boat and maybe to have more detail in the front.

I think that having a bit more defined of a boat structure on the bottom might help the boat come out more. I think right now, the base of the boat is a little hard to see.

I really like the design, in my opinion adding more defined edges to the boat may make it more clear to the viewer.

I like the designs you have made, I think that are very detailed.

What is your plan for materials on both the box and single piece setups?

I have an opinion about the box of the lantern. I feel that these images would play well on acrylic that is edge lit maybe with 3-4 layers that can all be different colors.

What made you decide chose the cycling and boat to be the focus of your lantern?
