My name’s Yulin (Jeff) Chen, I’m an IMGD BA major & an international student from China.
Art fits into my current life as a means of expressing my interests and making connections since I interact and work with people in online art communities nowadays. It also fits into my life goal since I wish to work as a 2D character or concept artist for games, animations or comics.
I’ve been practicing digital art since late 2020/early 2021, so I’m relatively new at it. I’ve taken numerous art/game art courses at WPI and worked as a 2D artist for a summer game dev internship and currently working as a member of the art team of Siivagunner, a YouTube channel focused on video game music and internet culture.
In terms of other creative arts, I build Gundam model kits as a pastime and I’m still learning to play the guitar.
In terms of things I’d like people to know, I have diagnosed anxiety so I’m always nervous and awkward when presenting and interacting with people, and I have little to no confidence in my own work most of the time since almost nobody in WPI really cares about it from what I’ve experienced in events like the art fair.

Familiar – Your art absolutely reminds me of the really intricate Transformers art from the early 2000’s. Its so cool how you are able to create a blend of many different styles to create such cool pieces of art!
