I finished designing my gearbox and will be printing it sometime this week along with the dancer model shown in the previous post. The gearbox is shown below, and the close up photo shows where the dancer connects to thee spinning platform. The circular holes in the housing are where 3d printed bearings will be. My question is should I add more gears/other elements to make the gearbox portion more interesting?

nice and concise, i like it! will you be printing this in multiple pieces and fitting it together? i think it looks pretty interesting already, but maybe you could add a design to the exterior if you want more?
how large do you plan on making this? 3d printers could struggle if this is too small. to answer you question I think it would be cool to have extra gears in the gearbox spinning as just decorative pieces maybe to the left of the main gear shaft.
This is a very nice and concise design. I think that it is fine with less gears. Having it be simple and elegant like a ballerina will fit the theme. It will also take more time to print all of the parts which is something to consider.
I think the design looks good as it is, and adding more gears might make it too complicated and harder to spin.
