Here is my completed lantern project along with my process! I experienced a lot of issues with tolerances from lasercutter to lasercutter which caused failed cuts where the design was only cut through partially.

Full designs cut out!
first design test cut, lots of burn marks and pieces not all pieces where cut through
design cuts V2, covered design with transfer paper/tape to reduce burn marks and increased passes to ensure all cuts were cut through
I probably cut these pieces out 4 different times with different sample wood as the tolerances for the teeth were off depending on the laser cutter I was using, especially with fitting it into the base

I’m really happy with how it turned out, definitely worth the all the time I put in! Especially just the way the lantern glows feels so warm and inviting.
