Here’s the design I made for my lantern. I used trace bitmap to scan in stars and then hand placed and sized everything in inkscape. The black outline is what is being cut out of the design which I imported from my solidworks design as dxf files.

Here’s the CAD design I made of my lantern in solidworks. I made the box design myself and had to test different tolerances to make sure the teeth and sliders all fit properly. The initial concept of the design where you see empty frames and slider rails is where different design panels can be swapped out.
