Layers Design (Jonathan Amirault)

My design: The wolf will be rastered and cut out and attached to the piece over the ripples in the lake.

I have always enjoyed creating artwork (between photography and traditional artwork) that focuses on silhouettes rather than super detailed oriented pieces. I figured that for this project, creating a peaceful and serene natural background with a central layered focus on the silhouette of a wolf that has been raster engraved would be a good way of paying homage to the type of artwork that I enjoy making. Additionally, I received a lot of inspiration from the Cove Marquetry Piece: Low Water. This piece has a very natural background setting with the focus being drawn to a much closer in perspective ship. I tried to replicate that here by placing the rastered wolf on the ripples in the water which would naturally draw the viewers eyes towards that point.

What is your plan for the rest of the piece? (besides the restoring of the wolf, how will the rest of the piece be characterized? Engraving, cuts, ect.)
