Lantern Project
For my Lanterns Project I decided to make a night mountain scape out of laser cut clear acrylic panes and a wooden laser cut kerf bent box. I also designed and 3d printed a base to mount the acrylic panes and house the led light strips I soldered together. The lantern is powered off a USB cable that exits at the rear of the box.

Layers Project
For my Layers Project I decided to model a motorcycle and create it out of laser cut acrylic sections. My original design was just a wheel, but I was drawn to create a free standing motorcycle and decided to model a simple assembly in SolidWorks. While the main sections were laser cut out of black acrylic and glued together with CA glue, I also 3D printed a few components such as the handle bars, stand, and axles.

Altered Toys Project
For my Altered Toys Project I decided to model and print a perpetually broken model plane. As a kid I spent a lot of time building, flying, breaking, and repairing model planes. With this project I wanted to cut to the chase and skip the flying, breaking, and repairing. The model can only be assembled in the broken state due to the way I have mounted the wing. It does however look nice sitting on a desk!

I really like the way that you use different colors for the different layers in your lantern. It makes it really pop.
I love your lantern project. I know the color order was a mistake, but it makes it feel like another planet. The plane concept is also really clever and a great interpretation of the assignment.
Each of your artworks were completed with a very high level of detail. The motorcycle came out great!
I enjoyed how your lantern and 3D model project mix together so well. It’s almost like it was meant to be. Excellent work!
I really enjoyed the lantern project idea with the different colors from the acrylic. It gives it such nice depth and its really beautiful to look at!
