Altered Toys WIP – Harris Brancazio

2/20/2023 – So far on this project I have completed a small scale 3D print test to visualize the model in real life while achieving low print times and low filament usage. I had some issues with the small pin features snapping off, but tree supports worked great for printing my oddly shaped parts.

Question: Should I add another brake somewhere else in the model similar to the left wing being snapped off?

I have since reprinted the wing, drilled out the holes in the model, glued it together and painted the model.

Finished!

I think one break is enough and more may make the piece less effective. Opinion: I liked the idea pitched in class about making the stand a tree.

  2. Sage says:

I notice how the plane stand looks very traditional. Opinion: I think that the plane would look more interesting if the wing was slightly taped on.

I am struck by the level of detail in such a small print! The complex geometry of the airplane shows great 3D modeling skills!
