This week I was able to laser-cut my first drawing! The first time I went to the laser cutter, I didn’t use the right pen in Inkscape so all my lines appeared as thick outlines. I discovered that I liked this look for the car, but not for the tree. After some edits, I was able to perfect the design till I made something I liked! Below are my first and last cuts.

Im struck by the way you used different line weights to convey different textures
I appreciate that you put in the effort to go back and improve on the design.
I appreciate the cartoon feeling of this, yet it is also very complex. It also appears that you put some thought into the location of the hole on top so it will hang even.
I appreciate that you made a truck, as I love my truck!
I notice how the lines are doubled in some areas like the outline of the truck and wheels. I appreciate that attention to detail and it makes the drawing more personalized
I am struck by how this piece has a very calming feeling to it, as this was a very familiar sight to my family!
