Ani Ladd Introduction and Portfolio

My name is Ani Lad and I am a Biomedical Engineering student from Novato, California. Art has always been a part of my life and I am always working on learning new things that will bring out the creative side in me.  In the past, I have worked with graphite drawing mediums, painting, some 3D printing, and woodworking! The process of coming up with an idea and transforming it into a tangible artistic piece is my favorite part of being an artist.

In the past year, I have expanded from textile art and drawing to digital mediums. My most recent project was a 2D animation portfolio, where I used programs like Adobe Premiere and Animate to bring various characters to life. I worked extensively with the 12 animation principals to create animations that followed the laws of physics while being captivating.

My favorite projects have been with 3D printing and the design process.  I learned how to use SolidWorks and SketchUp to make CAD models of small innovations I needed in my life.  I practiced identifying a problem and finding a practical yet simple solution that could make my life simpler! Some examples of this were a hairband holder that could fit near my bed, a phone stand, and a computer camera cover.  During covid, my uncle and I also worked on Ear Savers that could relieve the strain on the ears while wearing a mask. This was a super fun project, and at the end of three months, we donated them to my local hospital.

In my future life and carrier, I hope to continue pursuing artistic endeavors and always be creative! Below are some of my featured designs:
