for this project I will attempt to create an intricate clock face with fake gears and various wood designs. I have seperated the design into the top face with the numbering for the time, the middle with cutouts adding design elements, the gears which will serve as a backdrop and be the main focal point, and the back which is a simple circle.

For my reference images I was heavily influenced by the last post, choosing to take a similar composition while adding my own designs and influences to it.
I appreciate the way that you are utilizing gears in your design. As a very mechanically inclined person I am a big fan of the gears.
What is your plan for what will be engraves and what will be cuts?
Im hoping to have a backboard, the gears be made out of wood, the blue filled in layer be wood, and the maroon top layer. this way the clock will have the numbers visibile along with the circle designs and gears
LOVE the intricacy of this idea! what materials are you planning on using? the clock numbers are very thin, and i’m wondering how you plan to stop them from breaking if you are using something like wood or paper?
How did you make your design, it seems very parametric and very intricate!
How do you plan to connect the pieces? I feel like trying to glue the thin gears would get tricky.
