Hey all! My name’s Perseus Rosencrantz, but you can call me Percy (or Rose!), and I use he/him. I’m from Portland, Maine. I’m an IMGD BA major and I’ve spent most of my life drawing dragons, cats, and other animals and furries. I’ve always figured art would have a major part in my future just because of the sheer amount of art I produced as a kid. So, I decided to pursue art… without going to art school, because who wants to do that. I figured, I like games, I like art, let’s do both, so here I am. I’ve always wanted to make games, too, anyway.
As mentioned before, I’ve been drawing since I was like, four. I probably picked up digital art around 11. I’ve been doing both types of art ever since, although I tend to sketch on paper, and create completed drawings on my cintiq. I don’t and will not ever paint on paper. A few years ago, I picked up a few new artistic hobbies, all at around the same time. I started sewing stuffed animals and sculpting both digitally and traditionally. I also combine these two mediums to make art dolls, a multi-media soft sculpture style creation. Class-wise, I’ve discovered I also greatly enjoy 3D modeling & animating, and 2D animation as well. I also write as a hobby, although this is more often done in my head while I’m stuck with insomnia, than actually on paper. Recently I have been working on the script for a webcomic I would like to start publishing this coming summer. I am also currently working on my MQP called “Purradise City”.
Beyond just being an IMGD major I am also a major “gamer”. I spend most of my free time not doing art playing World of Warcraft (as I have been doing for 13 years). Some of my other favourite games include 999: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors and Suikoden II. The majority of my interests relate to art, games, comics, and sometimes anime.
My portfolio sucks right now, I’ll link it when I’ve updated it, but here’s some art!
