Final Projects

on

Layers Project: For this project, I used Fusion slicer to slice a hand I modified in meshmixer which was then cut out of scrap cardboard. The stand is made from scrap acrylic and has the lyrics of some of my favorite songs engraved on each of the outward-facing sides.

Lantern Project: For this project, I drew a version of the Grateful Dead Steal Your Face logo and separated the colors into three layers which were engraved onto 1/4″ scrap acrylic. I designed and printed a box enclosure and wired three LED strips inside to a battery pack to illuminate each slide.

Altered Toy Desing: for this project I designed and 3d printed a lego brick parachute attachment model which alternately functions as a desk ornament and light defuser.

I love the font you used for the lyrics on the layered hand! I think this was a really creative way to do the stand.

I really love the addition of lyrics to the stand of the cardboard hand, I remember talking about this during class it really adds to the theme of the and message of the piece.

I love the glow effect form the skull. I don’t know if it’s because of the photo but, it looks very textured. Almost like fabric. I guess it’s because of the scratches on the acrylic but, it adds to your lantern project. Awesome work!

I love the altered toy design! That was a super cool concept to make it a usable desk piece. Really fits into the environment well!
