I sat down for about 4 hours and sculpted my Littlest Pet Shop. I am waiting for tomorrow to get the full user training for the 3D printers before I bring the model into 3DPrinterOS and check it out, but I don’t anticipate major problems. The body, head, and neck peg (not shown) are 3 separate STLs since I want the head to be attached via the neck peg that I plan to print in TPU so that it can bobble. It likely won’t be able to turn because of the positioning of the hair. My question for this project is, what material should I print the head in? I was originally thinking TPU to mimic the vinyl plastic used by actual LPS toys, but I am worried about losing detail in the hair and face. Should I try TPU, attempt to use the IMGD resin printer, or just use regular PLA? Also, if the neck peg idea fails, does the toy still read well even if the head is fully stationary?

Update:
I printed it in resin. I had issues with both PLA and TPU so neither of those worked out, but the resin worked perfectly! Unfortunately, the head came out the wrong scale, so it’s a little less LPS-looking than I wanted, but I still think it works quite well. My idea for the bobblehead did not really work either, but I’m not very concerned about that.

My camera did not want to focus – there’s actually quite a bit of detail in the face.
I am struck by the amount of detail you were able to add to the model!
What type of paint do you plan on using?
i have a full set of acrylic paint at home, i plan on just using that.
After using zbrush for that one assignment, I commend your skills to model such complex features. This would have taken me much longer than 4 hours!
