Altered Toys Design – Percy

Since I talked about Littlest Pet Shop in the previous class, they were the first thing on my mind for toys to alter. LPS were probably my favourite toys next to Lego and Schleich figures. I figured it would be pretty simple and fun to create my own LPS! I am even getting the full user training to see if I can print the head in TPU to make it more similar to the vinyl heads that LPS have. I am also an experienced ZBrush user so it is much easier for me to make something more organic. I decided to make a LPS of my fursona that I’ve shown here on previous posts. I based him off of a few of the dog LPS. I will be modeling him symmetrically with face forward in ZBrush, but plan to look into how to recreate the LPS bobblehead effect (at the very least, I will be printing his head detached so I can position it to the side, since that is such a classic LPS look). The biggest difference here I think is the hair – the only LPS that had hair used doll hair, and everyone hated it, so they only ever made three. I plan on sculpting the hair which should be a fun challenge. I may also end up having the wings be folded if it proves too much of a challenge to sculpt wings in a printer-safe way. LPS are very small, and since we only have plastic based printers, I can’t fit a whole lot of detail into the sculpt.

For my suggestion, I wouldn’t use tree supports because the bottom of the parts will be relatively flat anyways which works more efficiently with regular supports.
