for this project I attempted to cut my lantern design however I found my wood to be too thick and hard for the laser cutter. this lead to cuts not going all the way through, design features being lost (pentagons becoming circles) and the cut becoming too hot and smoking. I will attempt to redo this with thinner wood that has worked in the past.
I am curious if you are planning on changing you design at all after this attempt or if you will only be changing the material thickness?
Apart from changing the thickness of the wood. Do you plan on changing the size of the project or leaving it the same?
Would using more passes at a lower power setting help?
