Since the last post I finalized my design and made a document with the pieces ready to be cut. I also bought cardstock and tissue paper in preparation for cutting. I did not have time this weekend to go in and begin cutting but will try to do it sometime this week. I am wondering if my design is too simple and if I should add more layering or other subjects to the piece?
Update: I finished my cuts and assembled it with double sided tape because I had some. The picture of it is below. It was very tedious to put together but I like how it turned out!

I think that adding more to a piece does not necessarily make it better. Because of this, I think it might be good for you to make the piece how you originally intended, and if it feels like it is missing something then maybe add some more detail through rasters or cuts. Question: How are you planning on holding the layers together? Will there be gaps between different layers or will they all be put directly on top of each eachother?
I used double sided tape to hold the layers together and they are all directly on top of each other.
I don’t think it is too simple, it has plenty of layers and colors and you’re even using multiple materials. A question I have is how you plan to attach your layers to each other?
I used double sided tape to attach the layers together.
I don’t think the design is too simple! The layers and colors add a lot. The only thing that might be cool is adding another material for the frame to add some physical depth.
Opinion, the design is very cool, and I like the nesting of the waterfall, and the use of multiple colorful materials!
I do not think it is too simple. Although the thin paper does not create a literal depth, the colors create a perception of depth. This perceptual depth makes me view your piece as complex and not simple.
I appreciate the paper frame you added, I think it ties the piece together well.
